Before a new WordPress or Shopify website goes live, check these domain basics. It keeps the project on track from day one.
Do you own your domain?
If not, start with How to buy a domain.
Can you access your domain?
Make sure you can:
- Log into your registrar
- Access DNS settings
- Update WHOIS details
If you cannot, sort this out before the project starts.
Is auto-renew enabled?
This prevents accidental expiry. Check at your registrar.
Do you know where your domain points?
If not, I can review and configure everything. It helps to know the current state before making changes.
Are you changing hosting providers?
If yes, see Changing hosting providers. DNS and migration need to be coordinated.
Do you have email connected to your domain?
Email DNS may need coordination during launch. MX records must point to the right provider. I can check this as part of setup.
